Freezer Space Guide for Bulk Beef

Here’s a good rule of thumb when planning your freezer space:

  • Quarter Beef: You'll need about 4–5 cubic feet of freezer space.

  • Half Beef: Plan on about 8–10 cubic feet of freezer space.

  • Whole Beef: Plan on about 16–20 cubic feet of freezer space.

This will give you plenty of room to organize everything and keep your packages easy to access.
A chest freezer works great for bulk storage, while an upright freezer can make sorting and rotating your cuts a little easier if that’s more your style.

Buying in bulk is a smart move for saving money on high-quality beef!
